Reception for RPCVs in Fort Collins

05 Mar 2020
5:00pm - 7:00pm MST

This event celebrates 2020 Peace Corps Week which runs March 1-7, commemorating President John F.Kennedy’s establishment of the Peace Corps on March 1, 1961. The mission of the RPCV of Colorado is to connect returned volunteers to one another, to their local community, and to the world for continued services, outreach, and support.
.
CSU played a vital role in the establishment of the Peace Corps. In 1960, the U.S. government contracted with the CSU Research Foundation to study the advisability and practicability of a volunteer organization of young college graduates who would bring advice and assistance to developing countries.
The Global Village Museum has a dedicated display area to honor the Peace Corps and its volunteers. Several Museum Board members have served in the Peace Corps, including Co-Founder John Roberts.
Volunteers who plan to attend the reception are asked to RSVP to Erin Cubley, Peace Corps Representative for Colorado State University, at peacecorps@colostate.edu or 315-854-4958
