Denver Event
Thursday, February 28
Feb. 28 is the Day of Action to Support of Peace Corps This Day of Action will feature advocacy for Peace Corps at both the state and national level. At the national level, you can expect to receive emails from either the National Peace Corps Association or the RPCVs of Colorado with details about how to advocate on behalf of the Peace Corps. These emails will include details on how to call or email your members of Congress. These phone calls and emails will only take you a few minutes to complete, so please take the time to express your support of Peace Corps.
At the state level, RPCVs of Colorado are working to have Joint Resolution in Support of Peace Corps read in the State House and Senate. Similar to the Senate Joint Resolution of 2011, this resolution will truly be a celebration of Peace Corps and gives our State Legislators a chance to demonstrate their support for the work of Peace Corps Volunteers and honor those who served. We will be sharing more details soon, but you will hopefully have the opportunity to either join us around 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at the State Capitol or watch online at: http://www.
Additionally, join us for our monthly happy hour at Highland Tap and Burger at 2210 West 32nd Avenue, in the Highlands, for food, drink, conversation and a chance to participate in the Day of Action. We will have computers set up to make sending an email to your members of Congress a breeze!
