Please join us for our first RPCVCO Meeting of 2013 on January 16 at 7:00 p.m. We’ll ring in the new calendar year by celebrating the Lunar New Year and learning about how this event is celebrated in Mongolia and beyond. The Lunar New Year, which is celebrated in many Asian countries, marks the turning of the year according to the lunisolar calendar. Though the true Lunar New Year will not occur until February 10, 2013, the RPCVCO Meeting is your opportunity to learn more about this holiday, sample traditional Mongolian food and drink, and see photos and hear stories about Suzanne Smith’s experience celebrating the holiday while serving in Mongolia. (Note: traditional Mongolian food is not vegetarian friendly) RPCVs who served in countries that commonly celebrate the Lunar New Year are also welcome to share photos, stories, food and drink.
